Hi,
I want to sync my lightshow with a live gig. The drummer uses a laptop with Ableton Live for a click track and some audio samples.
Is it possible to trigger a scene in Virtual Controller 2 from Ableton Live?
Thanks...

Yes. To make it work, you need a MIDI loopback device such as LoopBe1. This can be used to route the output of whatever channels in your MIDI sequencer (here Ableton) you select to have this output device (I use Cubase so I can'[t tell you the exact magic but the principle will be the same).
From there, it's a case of sending Note-on messages to that MIDI device to trigger scenes. In the Daslight editor view, there's a column which you type a MIDI trigger in. For example note 12 in channel 1 is 0#12, and that scene will start when it receives the note.
You might also like to assign scene triggers to MIDI drums pads (or even better, actual triggers) for some way cool effects

A lie goes half way around the world before the truth gets its pants on.
