EasyViewer2 Crash on File Open
Hello,
I re-installed DasLight4 on a new MacBook Pro (16 pouces, 2019) running MacOS Monterey 12.1 (21C52).
I saved my 3D view in an EV2 file (to keep lights positions and avoid loosing them when re-patching)
Each time I try to open the file (or any other .ev2 file) Easyviewer crashes.
(sample crash log attached)
To add to my problem, I have checked the "Automatically start the last saved project" option in EV2.
So whatever I do it crashes. I cannot even re-patch everything.
Please help !
Philippe

Re: EasyViewer2 Crash on File Open
I'd love to and I have it ready, but the forum platform doesn't let me attach a simple txt file (nor .rtf, nor .doc).
Maybe there is a config option on my new Mac that hides extensions, but can't find it.
If you have another way for me to send it to you, I am your man....

Hello TomHat,
Is the crash log of any help ?
I understand this may take a while to investigate.
Just to know if there is something else I can do to help.

Hello,
The crash seems to be caused by a fixture profile which contains no beams. Are you usung a smoke machine, maybe ?
Of course the software shouldn't crash, and we're working on a patch for this right now.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay : I was away for the week-end.
Yes indeed I am using a fog machine which is the BoomToneDJ Fog Spray 1000.
But I am suprised the fixture has no beam in DL4, as in real life it has an integrated led Par.

Re: EasyViewer2 Crash on File Open
And unfortunately I cannot test a setup without it, because I have checked the "Automatically start the last saved project" option in EV2, which makes it crash as soon as it starts.

Re: EasyViewer2 Crash on File Open
Sorry for these multiple messages... Just to let you know :
I uninstalled and re-installed Daslight to get rid of the "Automatically start the last saved project" setting in EV2.
I was able to save a simple EV2 file with only 2 Contest irLed-18x3, and re-open it.
And indeed when I had the BoomToneDJ Fog Spray 1000 and save, then re-opening the file makes EV2 crash.
At least now I can progress on the rest, and wait for your patch to add the fog spray.
Please let me know when the fix is ready.

Re: EasyViewer2 Crash on File Open
Hello,
A fix would be to try and edit the fog machine's SSL file to give it a light beam if it doesn't yet have one.
In order to fix the "open last saved file" crash, you can just delete the file named _global.ini located near the .exe file in your install folder.
