DL5 API

Post by MatrixLights »

Hey,

is there any possibility to control Daslight over an API with HTTP or any other function using third-Party services? The hardware website says that „App/API Triggering“ is included for DVC Gold and GZM.
This would be such a powerful feature and allows the integration of other tools. For me as a developer this would be very nice to know.

You can use OSC to control it from external services.

If you're familiair with HTTP, you'll probably quickly be comfortable using OSC as well.

OSC

Hey,

thanks for the answer, that helps me a lot.
OSC input works like supposed, even with values.

But I still wonder, what the OSC output should do, I can't find any purpose for that.
I suppose that this is a function to give an output if an event happens, but I can't detect anything going to the selected destination (using Wireshark). I've tried multiple destinations now (localhost, broadcast, IP), but nothing yet.

It would be nice to be able to send OSC messages when activating/deactivating a scene.

Hm, it seems to work fine here but do note that Daslight only sends messages for the scenes for which you have created a mapping.

I tested the following setup (all three network modes seem to work):

Integrating Daslight with other tools and services through its API can open up a world of possibilities for creating custom lighting solutions and automation. Best of luck with your development efforts!

Hey there!

I'm a full stack webdev and would love to work on an OSC based client for Daslight 5.
However, I don't really see any useful purpose for such an application.

So I was wondering: Is there an application that you would consider useful?

Hit me up with your suggestions! :)

Also I'm wondering if there's a way to control faders via OSC, or if this is a just meant for triggering scenes?

Best regards
